Stand-Alones are various solistic movement symphonies, which are inspired by and implemented in different architectural settings. Each solo-performance is a composition using very specific music, language or sound. The concept for Stand-Alones was originally developed for the museum space and performed at locations such as Leopold Museum Vienna, Musée des Beaux-Arts Nancy and Musée d’Art Moderne Paris, with subsequent versions in urban space.
The Video Paintings are based on the original live performances. Filmed on location, this production for screen uses found architecture in urban space as framings for the choreographic originals. Arranged in a matrix, a selection of 72 one-minute films reminds of panel paintings and tries to convey the visual and acoustic concentration of an exhibition space.
